Second bombing suspect is captured

NBC News: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the second Boston Marathon bombing suspect, was captured Friday night after police found him in a boat in a suburban backyard following a bloody rampage and daylong manhunt, police said.

He was transported to a hospital; his condition was unknown.

Cheers erupted from a crowd gathered at the scene in Watertown, Mass., where bursts of gunfire had been heard over the course of two hours.

The dramatic turn of events ended five days of terror from the bombing at the marathon finish line, which killed three people, wounded 176 and left the city of Boston on edge.

Great news to hear! Justice has won. Congratulations to all the police, military, and other personnel who were involved in the capturing of this suspect.

I love when our senses combine to illuminate something that would otherwise be invisible, or worse, ignored. A reminder of the limitations of our senses, and an artistic nod to synesthesia.

This is a sentiment I’ve been carrying around for years. Finally someone was talented and brutally honest enough to put it into exactly the right fucking words. You want to know why school shootings happen? It’s because we’ve been ignoring this pervasive problem for decades. I made it through. But not everyone does… (I don’t think I’ve ever asked this before, but if you liked this video, I think you should spread it far and wide, inside the tumbleverse and beyond. The more light we shine on it the harder it is to hide it away and ignore the problem. I don’t know what the answer is, but the first step is acknowledging that the problem exists.)
